Bio

Brett Novak, a self-proclaimed “Filmer, Skater and Hopeful Creator” was born and raised in the Chicago area of the midwestern United States. Obsessed with the video medium from a young age, he became entrenched in the culture of skateboarding. Skating and filming skating at every possible conscience hour, he quickly developed an obsession with reaching into and showcasing a slightly different side of the sport.

Upon moving to Los Angeles in his early twenties, he developed a career in the Visual Effects industry working on mainstream commercials, music videos and feature films. Kanye West, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga and Beyonce were some of the early projects that brought him into a broadcast industry that he quickly grew to love and tire from at the same time. His focus would ultimately shift as he would revisit his skate roots with a new perspective on production and execution.

Since 2010 he has traveled the world dozens of times over documenting creative skateboarders and artists alike, hoping to spread the inspiration that has made such an impact on his own life. He and his work have been featured on broadcasts around the world including newscasts, talk-shows, feature films and OnDemand entertainment.

He spends his time skateboarding around Los Angeles, planning his next endeavour.
