A Heelside Railstand is where you stand on the side edge of the board with the grip tape facing toward your back and your wheels facing forward. This position is usually used as a segue into other rail or flip tricks.

Figure 01Start with your left (front) foot lined up along the left side (outside edge) of the board and with your right (back) foot hanging about halfway off of the right side (inside edge) of the board, over the rear wheels. Figure 03Bend your knees a bit and then push down with your left (front) foot, and at the same time, with your right (back) foot, pull back and guide the board to rail while rolling the foot forward to meet the rear wheel. Figure 04At this point your left (front) foot will have finished its job of setting things in motion so start bringing your left (front) foot off of the deck and up onto the rail and front wheels. Getting Out

Tips

1. Higher trucks will give you better stability for Railstands.
