The Wheelbase of a skateboard deck is the distance between the inner mounting holes on a board. The typical wheelbase on a freestyle board varies anywhere from 11.75" to 13.75".

A short and long wheelbases have their own benefits and drawbacks. Shorter wheelbases will spin faster, but longer wheelbases will be more stable. A longer wheelbase can also be a hindrance for tricks like No Handed Pogos where the top truck can hit right up against your knee bone, where a shorter wheelbase will put the truck at a more comfortable height, at the fleshy part of your calf. It all depends on your body size and personal preference.

You can easily see a convenient table of freestyle decks with their associated wheelbases at List of Decks.
