A Heelside Railstand is where you stand on the side edge of the board with the grip tape facing toward your back and your wheels facing forward.

Step-By-Step (Goofy)

Step 01 - Start with your front foot lined up along the outside edge of the board and with your back foot hanging about halfway off of the inside edge of the board, over the rear wheels.
Step 02 - Bend you knees a bit and push down with your front foot, and at the same time, roll your back foot forward to meet the rear wheel.
Step 03 - At this point your front foot will have finished its job of setting things in motion so start bringing your front foot off of the deck and up onto the rail and front wheels.
Step 04 - At this point you should be in a heelside railstand with your back foot supporting you until you bring your front foot to rest on the rail and front wheels.
Step 05 - At rest in the Heelside Railstand. If you are a bit out of balance when you get up into the railstand, it is acceptable and sometimes stylish to walk backwards in the railstand until you catch your balance.

Step-By-Step (Regular)

If you are a bit out of balance when you get up into the railstand, it is acceptable and sometimes even stylish to walk backwards in the railstand until you catch your balance.
