The California Amateur Skateboard League was founded in 1982 by Frank Hawk and used to host freestyle contests in the late 1980's. CASL is still around today, but they have not hosted any freestyle events since freestyle died in the late 1980's.

Mission Statement
CASL promotes the sport of skateboarding as both a recreational and athletic endeavor to skaters of all ages with an emphasis on communities providing skaters and their families with a safe and fun skateboarding environment.
